New Hartford, NY – Ramesh Cherukuri, MD will be joining Slocum-Dickson Medical Group PLLC on September 18, 2017 in the Neurology Department.
Dr. Cherukuri specializes in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology which relates to the functioning of the nervous system. He treats a variety of conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, neuromuscular junction and muscles. This includes: strokes and intracranial hemorrhages, seizures, migraines, dizziness/vertigo, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, dementia, radiculopathy, plexopathy, neuropathy, myopathy, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, encephalitis, meningitis, and brain abscesses. In addition to these conditions, Dr. Cherukuri diagnoses and treats many other headache disorders, movement disorders, neurodegenerative conditions, peripheral nervous system conditions, neuro-ophthalmological conditions, inflammatory / autoimmune conditions of the central nervous system, infections of the central nervous system and pediatric neurological conditions in children 10 years of age and older. Additionally, Dr. Cherukuri performs EMGs and nerve conduction studies, interprets EEGs, performs lumbar punctures and provides Botox injections for the treatment of chronic migraines.
Dr. Cherukuri completed his Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship, Neurology Residency and Internship at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He earned his Medical Degree from the American University of Antigua, College of Medicine in St. John’s, Antigua. Dr. Cherukuri is a graduate of New Hartford High School and is proud to practice medicine in his home town.
